For Healing:
Lord, look upon me with the eyes of your mercy, may your healing hand rest upon me, may your life-giving power flow into every cell of my body and into the depths of my spirit, cleansing, renewing, restoring me to wholeness and strength. Amen

Loving God, make me conscious now of your healing nearness. Touch my eyes that I may see you; open my ears that I may hear your voice; enter my heart that I may know your love. Overshadow my soul and body with your strength, your love, and your healing life. Amen

Lord, I commend myself to you. Quiet my heart, and through your power, help me to handle my fears. I pray for the doctors and surgeons and all who use their special gifts to care for me. Fill me with your peace which reassures me that nothing can separate me from you. Use these days and experiences to reveal ever new examples of your love, care and concern for me. Lord, I pray also for my family; sustain and keep them in your love and care. Amen

Blessed Lord, I thank you that this surgery is safely past, and now I rest in your abiding presence, relaxing every tension, releasing every care and anxiety, receiving more and more of your healing life into every part of my being. In moments of pain, I turn to you for strength; in times of loneliness, I feel your loving nearness. Grant that your life, love and joy may flow through me for the healing of others in your name. Amen

When God Seems Far Away:
God, you seem so far away. I am not even sure that I am not just talking to myself. But God, I need you and your mercy in this most trying time. Send me someone, or help me recognize the person who can help make you and your love real to me. Be patient with me, and help me to be still that I may hear your still small voice, and the reassurance of peace it brings. Amen

Dear God, sometimes the days seem long, and nights are even longer, filled with much pain and discomfort. Oh God, may I draw upon the power of your presence when the pain is great. When I am lonely let me hear your promise, “Be not afraid, for I am with you.” Grant me your peace. Amen
